About Us |
||
Founded in 2010, Incidence Editions is a not-for-profit literary label based in Madison, Wisconsin. Incidence co-publishes literary nonfiction, criticism, fiction, theatrical texts and screenplays having to do with French Studies or the French-speaking world. We specialize in two areas: critical writing that questions existing and traditional models of French Studies, and French-language fiction and non-fiction that tests the aesthetic boundaries governed by larger French-language literary publishers.
Incidence operates on a hybrid model. Works accepted by Incidence are edited by Incidence editors, who approve the final manuscript and book design for publication. The author then publishes the manuscript using a digital print-on-demand service, collects his or her own royalties through that service, and co-markets the book with Incidence. The book is published or co-published under Incidence's label but is otherwise the property of the author.
Authors wishing to submit manuscripts for consideration should send a single hard copy of their manuscript to Incidence Editions. Manuscripts must be in French or English and are generally reviewed within three months of receipt.
